(1) 0229aaa9bf65c04851fd1aedc61db53dYesterday, 27th of June, the mayor of Vladivostok, Mr Igor Pushkarev held a meeting with a delegation of representatives of several major companies from Hong Kong, involved in the manufacturing of electrical and sanitary equipment, headed by Mr Lin Yongle, a coordinator of the ECH & HUIDA GROUP in the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and Belarus.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Head of Administration of Vladivostok – Head of the Department of Energy, Mr Alexander Yurov, the Acting Head of International Relations and Tourism of the city administration, Ms Daria Stegniy and the Head of the International Protocol of the Vladivostok Administration, Mr Vitaly Eremenko.

Igor Pushkarev said that their attention to such major foreign partners, to develop joint projects for the development of Vladivostok, confirms the strengthening of the position of Vladivostok as a centre for international cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region and as a promising investment partner.

During the meeting, members of the foreign delegation showed samples of their products, which are already widely distributed in many countries and are now being introduced in Russia. For these products, Vladivostok could be one of the pilot regions for the usage of energy-saving street lamps and lighting devices in public buildings.

Developed and manufactured by firm OPPLE, LED equipment reduces the consumption of electricity, when operating, from 70 to 85 percent, whilst simultaneously improving the quality of lighting, compared to that of the current devices. Naturally, the original price of purchase of such equipment is higher than the one used at present, but saving on electricity consumption pays it off within two to three years.

The workshop participants discussed the possibilities of practical implementation of the proposals from the Hong Kong delegation. Participants identified further organizational measures and economic calculations for decisions to be made on possible usage of energy-saving equipment on the territory of Vladivostok.
